I've renewed the Domain Name and I've paid for ads to not appear for members of the forum. This cost me a lot of money (for me), but I'm going to keep this site going for at least one more year. I might not be able to do this next year, depending on my financial situation. Will keep you all posted, but this site will be up until at least November 21st 2019 now.

Hey people, I haven't made a post in months, but I dropped by to see how everything is surviving. Also I renewed the domain of the site for another year, almost missed the deadline, apparently we only had 2 days left. Sorry I've been so busy, game development has eaten up most of my free time, but that's just making excuses.

I removed that Google Maps "Who is Online?" thing for all users, including admins. Some people were asking to remove it and it seemed like a pretty reasonable thing to remove. Not sure why it was even there originally.

Thinking about adding subsections on the forum for other card games, such as MTG and Hearthstone. Is there significant interest here for those sections? It's pretty easy to make if so. The primary focus of the site will still be AWBW and Duelyst, but there's plenty of room in here for more games.

Been working heavily on the site rework, hopefully you're all getting redirected to the new URL properly. The current layout is getting closer to what I'm envisioning for how the site will work, with the Index being the forum proper, and the Portal being a chatbox + Discord combination where people can easily connect to my Discord chat, and in the future, hopefully the Duelyst Official chat as well. Please keep me posted on any issues with the current interface, text readability, etc.

Additionally, there's a fun AWBW contest in the pipeline, and some Duelyst content on the way as well....

This website is getting a major overhaul over the next week. Our new domain name will be TakeYourTurn.net, and has already been purchased. Expect the change to go through over the course of the next 5 business days.

Most of the rest of the content will be organized into a third "other" section, with the primary focus being on guides, videos, maps, and streaming for AWBW and Duelyst. New player guides are a must. If anyone on the site has interest in working on...

Did some small changes to Global League, and I also added a Discord chat link on the left hand side of the site, along with a bunch of other small tools. Feel free to check that out, it's an easy way to contact me or just hang out with other forum members. More changes to Global League coming over the next week or so.

I'm still alive. AWBW map rotations, tournaments, and forum updates in the near future. Very sick but beer and nyquil are helping. More info over the next 7 days or so.

Added the new AW related posting ranks, as shown next to your name. Will likely make this larger and a bit more clear in the future. As a sidenote, I know a lot of you are sending me PMs or emails. If I didn't respond, it's probably due to being way too busy from too many jobs, but rest assured that I read everything that you send me. I'm not excusing me not responding to stuff of course, just explaining that if it's been sent to me, I have definitely read and thought about it even if I haven't responded to you directly yet.

Added the ability to use AWDS era portraits as your forum avatars. They have not been scaled up past their 32x32 iterations. If you want AW1 or AW2 era portraits, or you want them to be scaled up, feel free to post here. You can use these new AWDS avatars by going to:

Profile -> Avatar -> Select your Avatar from our Gallery (Show Gallery) -> Select category (Site gallery)

Added more AW related smilies. You can use them with the form <![CO name]>, so say, !"andy" (with no quotation marks). You can also use the Emote interface on the right when posting.

The new temporary top navigation bar doesn't look nearly as good as the old one, I know, I know. But we have actual buttons to get us to Inbox, Profile, etc. That's the goal right now. I'll make it look pretty and remove those odd little dots when I have the time to do that, but in the meantime, enjoy a much easier way to get to some of the major functions of the site, like the Inbox.

Life is very busy right now, but that's no excuse for not doing my job properly here. I've changed the "quote" font color to (hopefully) something a bit more readable, and now that the April Global League is updated and that work is mostly done, I will be working on fixing the broken Private Message UI by reworking the top UI bar (which currently reads Forums, Portal, FAQ, Profile, Log Out). Next priority after that is getting some other cool features on the forums that have been long overdue, including some functional stuff and some fun stuff.

Site is looking much better now, but there's still more improvements on the way.

Expect a few forum glitches as I work on getting the forum updated for phpBB3. I essentially have to make all new forum icons and content from the ground up, so this might take a while. The site might look a bit weird for the next few weeks.

This forum is long overdue for some Quality of Life updates. I'll likely move us to some better code with more options for all sorts of stuff in the near future. Be aware that the forum's interface may change multiple times during this period. I won't take down the forum for maintenance unless it is absolutely necessary, though.

In the near future, the Global League and Tournament/Public Games board in the AWBW/FE category will be merged into 1 larger board. Why this is happening will become more clear as I continue to post more information on future changes to AWBW.

I'm still away, but working away from home I guess? Anyways, added a Tournament/Public Games board since that was requested by a decent number of people, was a popular topic, and would just generally be good to have for the future.

Site admin here. I'll be away from Monday the 14th to Thursday the 17th. I'll still have access to a computer where I'm going, but I will likely not have much time to do much here for these specific days. Moderators will handle stuff while I'm away.

Website has had a minor visual update that keeps the categories a bit more clean. AWBW is now just Advance Wars / Fire Emblem chat. Additionally, the General Chat for AWBW has been merged into that forum, and all of the pre-existing subjects have been moved to subforums within that layout. Random Chat has been merged with The Pit since they were essentially the same thing.

Other stuff has been cleaned up along the same lines, it should be fairly easy to figure out where everything has ended up but if not, feel free to ask questions.

Reworking the visual layout of the site continues, as we try to streamline how users can get to content in an easy and visually appealing way. These changes will include spacing out the Categories a bit to make them more easily distinguishable from each other, along with streamlining one of the larger forums on the website, the AWBW section.

There's still a lot of work to be done on the category changes, but based on what and where people have been posting, I've reorganized the forums and topics accordingly. Many posts may have been merged or moved around, but no user created content was deleted from the changes.

Sulla reminded me to actually get on reorganizing the forum categories. I'll be getting on that ASAP, but it might be a bit confusing as I move all the forums/topics/categories around. I could shut the site down for maintenance while I'm working, but honestly this shouldn't take more than maybe an hour.

The lack of site updates...

I've been losing internet consistently thanks to this snowstorm, sorry I haven't been responding to a lot of stuff but it's not by choice.  Hopefully it clears up soon.

I've been adding a ton of stuff to the site, since we're getting a decent amount of traffic going.  Here's a list of a few of them.  

• There's a new report system for posts.  You can use this to report stuff like illegal content, hate language, harassment, etc.  Please do not abuse this feature, all reports will be recorded, reviewed, and taken seriously by moderators.
  
• There's a ton of new forum categories and threads, based on the various potential interests of many of the newer users, with more to come.  We'll see which stick and which don't.

I added an AWBW Map Committee Group on the site, and added the relevant people who have accounts now as of this posting.  This way people can see who's on it and active here and whatnot, it'll clear up a lot of confusion for newer members.  I'm also on the Map Committee, but it's probably more important that I keep the Admin status so people know that I am that here.  


They also get a fancy little secondary avatar.

  

I fixed the "new users not being able to post hyperlinks" problem.  A while back before the last wipe, this site had a major botting problem and that's all been fixed now, but that was one of the settings I still had on from that time, apparently.  But now I changed it back.  Enjoy.
